These scholarships honor the life and legacy of Wanda Marie Williams, born February 6, 1961, in Houston, Texas. A graduate of Waltrip High School and Prairie View A&M University, Wanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1986. Her distinguished career included roles at Lockheed Martin, NASA, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Verizon, and most recently CAE in Arlington, where she served as an Engineering Test Lead. She held top security clearances and led major engineering initiatives throughout her career.

Wanda was also a devoted member of Christ Community in Richardson, TX. Known for her kindness, humility, and unwavering faith, she cared deeply for others and lived a life marked by service and compassion.

To honor her commitment to education and her impact in STEM, the Wanda M. Williams Book Award, Academic Scholarship and Tuition Assistance Scholarships were established. These awards support students pursuing degrees in:

Science – Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Geology, Statistics
Technology – Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Software Development
Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Civil Engineering
Mathematics – Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science

Wanda’s life was marked by generosity, humility, and a quiet strength that inspired everyone who knew her. She believed deeply in the power of opportunity and the importance of lifting others as she climbed. Her legacy of service will continue through the Wanda M. Williams Scholarships, a lasting tribute that reflects her belief in education as a pathway to hope, dignity, and generational transformation.
